Research Incubator ‘Digitalisation of Propulsion System Manufacturing' to foster collaborative opportunities

08 May 2024

The Advanced Automotive Propulsion Systems Centre for Doctoral Training (AAPS CDT) at the University of Bath is hosting a week-long Research Incubator designed to identify and develop collaborative research opportunities around the theme of Digitalisation of Propulsion System Manufacturing.

Held from 3rd to 7th June 2024 at Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution, the AAPS CDT Incubator titled ‘Digitalisation of Propulsion System Manufacturing’ offers an opportunity for academia and industry to come together to develop collaborative research and transform ideas into successful projects.

The thematic areas covered in this incubator include digitalisation manufacturing from cradle to grave, integrating novel and legacy systems and data security and privacy.

The first day of the incubator will involve group discussions and idea generation in response to overall challenges. Over the following days, participants will work together in small groups on a specific cluster of ideas and turn these ideas into avenues of research and findings which will be presented to the group.

The workshop provides an inclusive and accessible environment for industry, senior academics, postgraduate students and other early-career academics to frame and discuss interesting research problems. The workshop has broad appeal, with previous events having led to successful collaborations and project foundations, including new PhD projects with industrial co-funding, joint academic-partner research proposals to the funding councils as well as short-term research projects, scoping projects and consultancy.

The incubator is run as an in-person event and places are limited. To reserve your place or to find out more, visit the event booking page.

The AAPS CDT is where science, behaviour change and future engineering meet. AAPS is a hybrid think-and-do-tank, inspiring and working with the next generation of leaders to pioneer and shape the transition to clean, sustainable affordable mobility for all.
