15 July 2021

IAAPS is thrilled to announce it has been shortlisted as a finalist for the inaugural Bhattacharyya Award granted by the Royal Academy of Engineering, having been selected from a wealth of very competitive, high-calibre entries.

The prestigious Bhattacharyya Award is a tribute to Lord Kumar Bhattacharyya KT CBE FREng FRS, Regius Professor of Manufacturing at the University of Warwick and founder of the Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), and aims to celebrate the collaboration between academia and industry. The £25,000 prize will be awarded to the team who can best demonstrate successful and lasting partnerships between industry and universities – an ethos which is at the heart of IAAPS’ philosophy.

The judging panel, chaired by Professor Dame Ann Dowling OM DBE FREng FRS, will announce the winner during a ceremony to be held later this year. Judging criteria will assess the successful delivery of strategic collaborations of “outstanding excellence, demonstrating innovation and unambiguous evidence of beneficial impact and effects in the wider world.”
